Install a Custom ROM on Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO
Use Xiaomi’s official Mi Unlock process, required account binding and exact firmware prerequisites.
Use Xiaomi’s official Mi Unlock process, required account binding and exact firmware prerequisites.
Xiaomi unlock preparation
Confirm the exact codename and region, sign in with the Mi Account used for unlocking, enable Developer options, bind the account in Mi Unlock status and follow the current official Mi Unlock instructions.
The official process uses the Mi Unlock application on a computer and can impose eligibility or waiting requirements. Unlocking wipes data and reduces security.
Installation flow
After unlock, boot to Fastboot and verify the product identifier. Install the exact required firmware before the ROM when the maintainer specifies it.
Follow the device guide for recovery, fastbootd or recovery sideload. Dynamic-partition devices may require a specific recovery and format-data step.
Do not relock on a custom ROM unless the project explicitly supports it for that exact device; a mismatched relock can make the phone unbootable.
Rollback
Keep official fastboot/recovery firmware for the same region and understand Xiaomi anti-rollback or bootloader-version restrictions before attempting an older build.
Unlocking and flashing can erase data, weaken device security, disable protected services or make a phone unbootable. Use only your own device, exact model-specific instructions and a tested stock restore path.
