Use Motorola’s bootloader unlock program and retain a stock rescue path before flashing.

Motorola eligibility

Check the official Bootloader Unlock program for the exact model. Carrier-exclusive devices and some regional variants are excluded.

The official process can require a device-specific unlock string and code. Accepting the unlock wipes the device and may affect warranty or support.

Installation flow

Record the software channel, model and current firmware. Verify ADB/Fastboot and obtain the unlock code only from Motorola’s official process.

After unlock, follow the ROM device guide for boot/recovery images, required stock firmware, A/B slot handling and sideload steps.

Do not flash partition images intended for a different Moto G, Edge or Razr variant even when the names look similar.

Return to stock

Keep Motorola’s official rescue/software-fix path available and verify whether relocking is supported only after complete stock restoration.

Critical safety boundary

Unlocking and flashing can erase data, weaken device security, disable protected services or make a phone unbootable. Use only your own device, exact model-specific instructions and a tested stock restore path.
