Pixel preflight
Confirm the exact Pixel model and that OEM unlocking is available. Carrier variants can have unlocking disabled. Update stock Android to the firmware level required by the ROM.
Back up everything. Unlocking the bootloader wipes data. Keep the matching full OTA and factory-image pages available for recovery.
Installation flow
Enable OEM unlocking and USB debugging, confirm ADB, reboot to Fastboot Mode and unlock only through the documented prompt.
Use the ROM’s official web installer or device guide. Let it flash all required firmware and OS images; do not mix packages from another Pixel generation.
If the custom OS explicitly supports bootloader relocking and verified boot, follow its relock step before setup. Otherwise leave the bootloader unlocked and understand the security tradeoff.
Recovery
Google publishes full OTA and factory images for supported Pixel devices. Prefer the project’s documented return-to-stock method and account for anti-rollback notes on newer bootloader releases.
Unlocking and flashing can erase data, weaken device security, disable protected services or make a phone unbootable. Use only your own device, exact model-specific instructions and a tested stock restore path.
